This is a photo I took back in July of 2010:
I arrived at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma just before daylight to try and photograph a Great Blue Heron catching fish. As the sun was starting to rise a Great Blue Heron flew into the area I was parked. Just as the light was getting perfect I saw someone approaching my vehicle. I knew this Great Blue Heron was fixing to take off so I decided to get some flight photos.
Most photographers would get mad when this happens, but I have learned to take advantage of humans to get some great photos. This guy was talking to me and the first thing he said was “that was a beautiful bird I was photographing”. I smiled and said that it sure was.
